FIRE broke out in a Brunel University lab yesterday evening (Tuesday), and ambulance treated a suspected stab victim on the same road an hour earlier.
Fire crews from Hayes and Hillingdon stations were called to a blaze at a bio-engineering room in the Heinz Wolff building, in Cleveland Road, Uxbridge, at 9.30pm.
They took 50 minutes to bring it under control. No one is reported to have been hurt, and the cause of the fire is under investigation.
In a separate incident, paramedics were called to reports of a stabbing on the same road, at the junction with Topping Lane, at around 8.30pm.
A 20-year-old man was taken to a Central London hospital and treated for stab and slash injuries, and was discharged this morning (Wednesday).
Hillingdon Police are investigating. No arrests have been made.
