A fire above an e-cigarette shop in Hammersmith has destroyed part of a first floor flat.

London Fire Brigade (LFB) were called to the scene in King Street, opposite Rivercourt Road, at 12.20pm today (November 10).

Nobody was injured in the vacant flat but it was seriously damaged by flames and firefighters had to push out the window looking over King Street to ensure it did not blow out.

The flat is above an e-cigarette shop but firefighters at the scene said the shop was not part of the incident and they put sheets up in the shop to prevent it being damaged by water used to put out the fire.

A spokesman from LFB said: “We were called at 12.20pm to a fire in King Street. Part of a first floor flat with shops below it has been damaged.

“Crews from two fire engines are still at the scene.”
