Police have made their fifth arrest in connection with a Greenford murder.

Detectives investigating the death of 36-year-old Zbigniew Michniewicz arrested a 40-year-old man yesterday evening (January 2) on suspicion of murder and he is currently in custody at a central London police station.

Officers are still appealing for witnesses and are keen to hear from anyone who may have witnessed a fight between three white males which took place in Greenford Road on or around November 14.

Detective Chief Inspector Noel McHugh of the Homicide and Major Crime Command said: “The house was being used as a squat, and I am particularly keen to hear from anyone who went into the house from November 10 to December 5, whether to sleep there or as a visitor.

“There has been a positive response to the police investigation from the public and in particular from the Polish community, and we encourage people to continue to come forward with any information they have.”

Two men, aged 20 and 45 have been charged in relation to this investigation.

Another man, 20, and a 17-year-old girl have been arrested on suspicion of murder and are currently on bail.
