WORMHOLT Park was lit with festive cheer on Saturday as the community embraced a one-off Christmas party.

The Winter in the Park event, organised by the Friends of Wormholt Park group, saw youngsters drawing on their creative skills to make their own Christmas cards, baubles and wreaths.

Yuletide cakes were sold and a fire juggler ended the day by wowing guests with a dusk display at the historic Shepherd’s Bush park, which celebrated its 100th birthday earlier this year.

Friends chairman Bob Still said: “We were very pleased with the event and had about 180 people come through during the day.

“It was very wintry and atmospheric and the children loved being able to make cards for their gran and decorate baubles for their Christmas trees.”
