A THEATRE school student has landed a lead part in a BBC radio play produced by Lenny Henry.

Lea Ocran, 14, from Sparrow Farm Drive in Feltham is recording a major role in the actor's BBC Radio 4 play, Corrine Come Back and Gone.

The teen who attends the Brentford theatre school Corona Theatre Arts, full-time, said: “It was great to meet Lenny Henry at the recording yesterday. He was really nice and very friendly and gave me tips on my acting – he was really pleased with me. This is the first radio play I've done and it was very different from acting on stage but really enjoyable.”

The youngster whos dream is to appear in a TV period drama and on stage in Wicked has attended the Thameside Centre based school for two years, and has already starred as Nuala in The Lion King and as one of Fagin's gang in the recent London Palladium production of Oliver.

Rose Brooks, Principle of Corona Theatre School said: “Leah is one of my top students and is a lovely girl. She is always so dedicated and gets lots of major roles – we are all very proud of her.”

Leah will be playing one of the main characters Bridie as a child and also April, Bridie's child.
