It's out with the old paper and pen and in with a new digital shopping trolley for shoppers at the revamped Argos store in Feltham , writes Norresa Perucho.

Staff were delighted to be chosen from nearly 700 stores nationwide to be one of the first to transform from the more traditional way of shopping to the new digital age of buying.

Hounslow and Feltham residents welcomed the digital makeover to their local store in the Longford Centre which gives customers the advantage of speed and convenience of online shopping, but without losing the convenience of purchasing items from a physical store.

The revamp of the store saw the replacement of the traditional Argos catalogues to brand new interactive tablets.

Customers will be able to browse the tablets, just like a catalogue and select the products they want to buy, into their digital shopping trolley as oppose to the old paper slip and pens.

The tablets will increase Argos’ interaction with their customers as it allows access to extra product information including extended ranges, videos, picture and customer reviews.

The changes also gives customers the benefit of being able to browse and purchase items from home or whilst on the move, where the item will then be ready for a speedy collection at the special Fast Track Collection point in store.

Clyde Fennell, Argos store manager for Feltham said: “It’s brilliant news for our local customers and store team that we have been selected to be a digital store and we have had great feedback already.

"The store which is located in the Longford Centre, was chosen from nearly 700 other Argos stores across the UK."
