ONE of Harrow's town centre pubs has closed after being taken out of the hands of the company that owned it.

The Fat Controller, in Station Road, shut at the beginning of last month as part of the Faucet Inn Pub Company's administration process, in which assets are sold off before insolvency experts are brought in.

The firm, a London-based pub and bar operator, had purchased this and five other sites from rival Broken Foot Inns in late 2007.

As a result of the rescue package, accountancy firm Baker Tilley now owns the vacant pub.

Baker Tilley said: "The Fat Controller was closed at the end of January and staff redeployed within the group. "We are actively seeking purchasers for the leasehold interest."
