Far too many bike markings

I have just travelled along Eastcote Road, Pinner, about a third of a mile, and have counted no less than 79 road markings of bicycles.

I have just travelled along Eastcote Road, Pinner, about a third of a mile, and have counted no less than 79 road markings of bicycles. Is it necessary to paint so many?

Would someone from Harrow Council like to explain this apparent waste of taxpayers' money?
