FLOWERS have been laid to commemorate the death of a police officer who died in a road accident four years ago.

PC Pirthi Bedi, was killed in a car outside Hayes Police Station, in Uxbridge Road, Hayes, on December 7 2004. He was aged 24.

The much respected officer, who was based at Wembley Police Station at the time of his death, now has a foundation set up in his name to teach Sikhs about their heritage.

A plaque to his memory adorns the wall beside the scene of the crash and in 2005 the borough commander of Brent police force named its new conference centre in honour of Mr Bedi.
