Nature enthusiasts can walk on the wild side of west London when the gates of Kempton Nature Reserve are opened to visitors next week.

An open day is being held on Saturday (13), for people to explore the number of different species nestled among the 50-acre disused reservoir through nature trails and guided walks.

Families are invited to explore local wildlife in their natural surroundings, learn the history of the site and enjoying craft-making including making pine cone hedgehogs, butterfly pegs, bird feeders and bug homes.

The SSSI (Site of Special Scientific Interest), lies between Feltham, Hampton and Sunbury, and is normally open to members only.

The Thames Water Kempton Nature Reserve Open Day will be held from 10am to 6pm next Saturday (13).

Access via entrance next to Lindon Bennett School, Main Street, Hanworth.
