A FANTASY author sparked pupils’ interest in reading at Park High School.
Marcus Alexander gave a talk to more than 120 students at the school in Thistlecroft Gardens, Stanmore, about his newly released first novel, which mixes adventure, peril and wit.
English teacher Lisa Arsenieva said: “All the pupils really enjoyed it. They all love fantasy books at the moment, anything to do with that.
“It was also really interesting for the pupils to find out what it is really like to be an author and put a face to the name on the front of the book.”
Students aged 12 to 14 listened to a reading from Keeper of the Realms: Crow’s Revenge and took part in a question and answer session with the author at the event on Wednesday last week.
Mr Alexander is a qualified personal trainer who also practises gymnastics, parkour, capoeira.
The feisty heroine of the book, Charlie Keeper, is a London girl and is intended to be an energetic inspiration to readers aged 10 and upwards.
