I can totally sympathise with the people who have been ticketed for parking in their street in Heston.
This is now happening in all the residential roads in Hounslow and my son has just received a ticket for parking outside my house while visiting on a Sunday afternoon.
I believe that this is due to the fact that on Sundays they do not get any revenue from car parks because they are free.
Another problem is during the week when commuters park their cars down the side roads so they do not have to pay the parking fees at Hounslow West station.
There is now an added problem with buy to let houses, where there could be up to eight adults in one house, all with their own vehicles.
So Hounslow Council, where are residents supposed to park?
If they are sensible and do not obstruct pavements or roads then leniency and common sense should prevail.
Another reason could be that the council tax has been frozen again so the poor old motorist is an easy way to recoup substantial income.
I notice that the council was not so quick to send a gritting lorry down the side roads during the recent icy spell.
One other point I would like to make is that I think that the wardens' vans should be clearly marked and visible.
I doubt if this would ever happen though because, as I said before, it is easy money for the council.
If anyone would like to campaign about the unfair system now in place I will be first to join with them.
