I REFER to your Observer article Traveller's drug-fuelled attack on a blind 89-year-old in his own home, both beginning 'A Traveller....'

The crime being reported was obviously horrific. However, my reason for writing is to bring to your attention the fact that your inclusion of the convicted man's ethnicity is not acceptable today.

One of Harrow Council's priorities is to develop communities where people from different backgrounds get on well together. Newspapers contribute to this and do not mention ethnicity for other ethnic groups.

May I reiterate that I condemn this crime, but I look forward to your newspaper group's support in working for a more harmonious society rid-ding it of the scourge of racial predujice.
