Two mums who founded a business to eliminate the isolation of working for yourself were honoured at the Houses of Parliament.

Shelley Henderson and Erin Thomas-Wong of Ealing Mums in Business enjoyed a thank you reception for their contribution to the community and support for small businesses on Monday (December 8), honoured by MP for Ealing Central and Acton Angie Bray.

More than 50 businesses were present to share in the celebrations.

The entrepreneurial mums said: "We have been overwhelmed and feel so proud of what we have achieved to date and are looking ahead to the future with even more vigour and enthusiasm for our next steps in 2015.

"We are incredibly thankful that Angie Bray has recognised our efforts and hard work and takes such a ground level interest in what's happening in the local area.”

Ms Bray said: "It was my pleasure to show my appreciation for a couple of Ealing mums who are doing so much to support and grow small businesses across the borough and providing the kind of back-up which gives confidence to those who are taking the plunge. Well done Shelley and Erin and we all owe you a big vote of thanks for everything you do."

The mums founded their company in 2010 and it has grown organically and developed into a multi-faceted business.

It provides a wide range of social media and management training courses, an online business directory, local meet-ups, networking forums, and runs a number of family and night market events.
