A TEENAGER breezed his way through a work-experience placement and was presented with an award for his achievement.

James Diaz-Sokoloff,19, was the London Region Mentor Award winner for his work on a Year-In-Industry placement.

The Ealing student was involved in designing and making a 3D model of a wind turbine at Quiet Revolution, which deals in renewable energy solutions.

He was presented with the award at a prize-giving event in Hook, Hants.

James said: "The Year-In-Industry experience has been very worthwhile.I think every engineer and undergraduate should take part in the scheme before going to university."

He will be starting a mechanical engineering degree at Bristol University in the autumn after his summer travels to South America.
