EIGHT detainees at an immigration centre in Harmondsworth have been charged with allegedly falsely imprisoning and assaulting a fellow prisoner.

An alleged incident took place on Saturday 27 March at the Colnbrook Immigration Removal Centre, on the Colnbrook Bypass in Harmondsworth, West Drayton.

The prisoners have all been charged with alleged false imprisonment and assault and have appeared at Uxbridge Magistrates Court.

The incident took place in the Alpha Wing of the immigration centre, which is located close to Heathrow Airport.

They are set to stand trial at Isleworth Crown Court at 10am on 18 May. All eight have been remanded in custody.

The men charged are, Adilson de Oliverira, 23, Marc de Borge, 32, Omar Haji Ali, 30, Steven Dondan Kadima, 22, Ahmed Said Mamood, 27, Faisal Wangita, 28,  Robert Bami Williams, 25, and Julio Odjomo, 27.
