LABOUR Party leader Ed Miliband has met staff and students on a visit to Ealing, Hammersmith & West London College.

Mr Miliband was keen to visit the Acton campus, in Gunnersbury Lane because his father, Ralph, studied English there in 1949, when it was known as Acton Technical College.

During the visit on Wednesday last week he met staff and students from the English for speakers of other languages, bricklaying and motor vehicle classes.

Mr Miliband said: “It was great to meet so many people learning new skills with so much enthusiasm and dedication. I hope to enable more people around the country to have access to the same quality of facilities, teaching and opportunities that I saw at Ealing, Hammersmith & West London College.”

Ralph Miliband attended the college after emigrating from Belgium during the Second World War.
