THE eco police were out in force as part of a South Harrow schools week of green activities.
Students at Heathland School took part in an Eco Week to help promote environmentally friendly initiatives, such as having a paper-free week.
Pupils were involved in a drive to reduce energy consumption from January 16 to 20 and some became members of the eco police, issuing tickets to anyone caught leaving a light on in an empty room.
Parents were also invited to an exhibition showcasing works of art made from recycled materials.
Headteacher Chris Spruce said: "We are delighted with the success of our Eco Week. All our parents and families supported the activities brilliantly. We believe our focus on a greener, more sustainable way of life for all contributes to Global Citizenship and our investment in the future of all our children."
Heathland School, in Eastcote Lane, is an Eco School, an award programme that guides schools on becoming more sustainable.
It is working towards gaining Green Flag status.
