AN aspiring entrepreneur from Eastcote is among the first to graduate from Dragons' Den star Peter Jones' new business academy.
The National Enterprise Academy (NEA) was set up last September by the multi-millionaire and 18-year-old James Evans (pictured) was one of 24 who graduated last week in a gala ceremony at the City of Manchester Stadium.
The trainee entrepreneur successfully completed the NEA's curriculum, which included innovative business challenges, entrepreneurial master classes and a month-long business placement.
Speaking after the ceremony, James said: "I came to the academy because I always enjoyed business from a young age. I watched Dragons' Den and The Apprentice and I wanted to experience that first hand and be in the thick of it.
"I learnt so much from my time at the academy, however the main thing I have taken away is how to pitch. I was never a very confident person before but now I feel I could stand up in front of hundreds of people and do a good job."
James hopes to go to university next term, having secured a conditional place at Nottingham Trent Business School.
