A VERY big thank you to Eastcote for a great Christmas Lights Appeal, and the Christmas fair and market.

It was wonderful to see Eastcote pulling together to celebrate.

Thanks to the traders and the residents of the area for their tremendous support in raising £22,000, which has allowed us to buy all our Christmas lights.

Thank you to Hillingdon Council for all their support, and Hillingdon street cleansing team, who by nine o'clock on Monday had Eastcote spick and span again.

The Mayor of Hillingdon, Councillor David Yarrow, and Santa, presided over the lighting up ceremony of the new lights, which extend over the full length of the main Eastcote shopping centre.

Entertainment was provided by a steel band, a soul band and the angelic Coteford Infant School choir.

My personal thanks go to Ian Parkinson, the main organiser, and the many helpers both before and on the day of the fair.
