An Ealing woman who has photographed celebrities including Princess Diana has created an inspirational book honouring Britain's armed forces.

Gill Shaw, whose son Marc is serving in Afghanistan, spent four months in hospitals, homes and army bases, interviewing and photographing wounded soldiers for her inspirational book, The Hero Inside.

She travelled more than 21,000 miles across the UK to complete the project in an effort to do 'her bit' for the armed forces.

Gill said the aim of the book is to raise money for Help for Heroes, the charity founded by Emma and Bryn Parry two years ago to support servicemen and women wounded in Iraq and Afghanistan.
