THE government has launched a nationwide search for a town, city or area with a thriving business community that is growing all the time and could become a real force both here and abroad.
Business hubs like Park Royal, Greenford Park, the hoard of independent traders in Pitshanger Lane or Ealing Broadway Business Improvement District could be nominated in the Enterprising Britain competition.
Business and Enterprise Minister Mark Prisk said: “We want to make 2012 the year of enterprise. This is a great opportunity for local authorities and businesses to come together and show that they are creating a vibrant environment to allow enterprise to thrive.”
The three categories are the most enterprising place in the UK, the organisation that best promotes enterprise, and the organisation most successful in encouraging businesses to export.
It is free to enter and open to all places in the UK that can demonstrate the impact enterprise has had on their community in the past two years. To register interest, email your contact details to email@example.com. Entries must be submitted by May 30 and the winners will be announced on July 16.
