AN Ealing man has won a top-spec £40,000 Range Rover in a competition - and he doesn't hold a driving license!

Adel Mbarki purchased a ticket for the competition run by Best of the Best, while on a trip to Westfield shopping centre in Shepherd's Bush with his wife.

He said: "We were walking through Westfield and I saw the car on the stand and just fell in love with it. I spoke to the salesman but my wife was cross because she thought I was wasting my money. She walked off in a huff but I was determined to try my luck. I can’t believe I’ve won."

Mr Mbarki, who scooped a top-spec Range Rover Evoque, was described by Best of the Best as one of its 'most excited winners ever' - hugging the car, kissing the bonnet and stroking the windows. However the £40,000 car will stay untouched unless he gets out the Highway Code. "I’ve got a provisional licence,” he laughed.

Best of the Best was founded 13 years ago with a stand at Heathrow Terminal 4. It gives away top of the range goods including cars, watches, and holidays - and every car winner gets the good news via a phone call from the company founder William Hindmarsh.

Mr Hindmarch said: "It’s wonderful to be able to witness the emotion, regardless of how people display it. Seeing how much it means to people is one of the reasons we love what we do. It's life-changing in so many ways."
