SHOPPERS were treated to tastes of food from around the world and learned how to whip up impressive recipes at home at a food festival.
Professional chef Bernard Mintz led students from the University of West London in cooking demonstrations at Ealing Broadway Shopping Centre.
The shoppers were shown how to recreate dishes from Asia, Africa and Eastern Europe on Saturday (7) at the festival, dubbed Taste temptation.
They were joined by celebrity chef Nigel Barden who cooked a range of recipes, including a spicy fish risotto which was submitted by the member of the public.
The the food and drink presenter for BBC Radio 2, chose the dish, by Rebecca Taylor, 31, of east London, after a competition on the centre's Facebook page. She won a £50 Tesco shopping voucher.
And members of Ealing Mencap, also visited, to help raise awareness of their charity which helps those with learning disabilities, with some learning to poach eggs in front of the crowd.
Shoppers received free samples of food and drink and special offers to redeem in the centre.
Deputy centre manager Stuart Hill, said: “We're all really pleased with how well our first event of the year went, the centre was really busy throughout the day.
“I would like to thank everyone that got involved, especially our retailers and the students from the University of West London they worked tremendously hard.”
