EALING Art Group put paintings and other works by 100 artists on display at the weekend.

The group’s anual show displayed about 350 exhibits at Pitshanger Manor gallery in Walpole Park.

Visitors also had the opportunity to buy some of the artwork, which covered a variety of mediums including paint, clay, wood, fabric, papier mâché and metal.

David Webster, the group’s president, has been a member for the past 20 years.

He said: “The number of entries in the exhibition is one of the highest compared with other years. Happily, the number of artists and the quality of art are increasing in Ealing.”

A retrospective of work by the late Hanwell artist D E Walduck was a highlight of the exhibition. His wildlife paintings, landscapes and nudes were on show alongside other paintings, ceramics, sculptures and crafts created by Ealing’s amateur and semi-professional artists.

Ealing Art Group, which launched more than 100 years ago, also exhibits work by Ealing artists on the first Saturday of the month at Christ the Saviour Church, Ealing Broadway.
