MARKETING firm dunnhumby has once again agreed to sponsor one of the categories in the Pride in our People awards.
Mark Hinds, managing director for Tesco Markets, said it was only fitting, considering the firm’s involvement with a charity which helps young people, that it is sponsoring the Young Person of the Year.
He said: “We are delighted to support the awards once again as we are very keen to work with the local community.
“We are particularly delighted to sponsor the Young Person award as it’s relevant to what we do. We do a lot of work with children so it really resonates.
“We are proud of our charity (Chicks) which gives holidays to disadvantaged kids.
“We also have a graduate programme in the business which gives young people a chance to get their first job and we are doing more work with internships, which gives young people experience and the chance to thrive here or elsewhere.”
The award-winning company which devised the Tesco Clubcard loyalty scheme has been ranked by the Sunday Times in the top 100 best companies to work for, adding to a host of accolades and 17 world records.
dunnhumby, of Uxbridge Road, Ealing, encourages its employees to take part in its charity work, both locally and nationally, including running holidays in Devon for children and a Christmas auction, as well as hosting a family Olympic torch party and more recently it held a talent show which parodied the business.
Mr Hinds said: “Running the holidays has been a really big initiative and requires a lot of energy and we are so impressed with the effort our staff put in.”
