A CONMAN who preyed on vulnerable people to feed his drug habit has been slapped with a second ASBO in the space of three years.

Darren Bingham was last month given a five-year antisocial behaviour order banning him from knocking on doors or begging in a public place.

The conditions are identical to those of a two-year ASBO with which he was issued in November 2009 after begging for money on doorsteps in Hanworth, Brentford and Isleworth.

The 32-year-old, of Markhole Close, Hampton, claimed then he needed the money to help sick relatives when in reality he wanted it to feed his drug habit.

The latest ASBO was granted at Feltham Magistrates Court on May 3 following a police application accusing Bingham of 'numerous offences of fraud and false representation'.

He was jailed for three weeks in February after admitting fraudulently begging for cash in Hounslow to help his 'pregnant wife'.

Bingham's ASBO states he must not:

Knock at any door or enter any part of any residential premises of any person not known to him within England and Wales without the implied permission/knowledge of the lawful owners/occupiers

Beg, attempt to beg or gather alms in any public place within England and Wales.

A police spokesman said: "Bingham will knock at residential homes of often vulnerable persons and approach members of the public in the street asking for money and using the pretext of a sick relative in order to gain sympathy and obtain funds to feed his drug habit."
