You read so many complaints about doctors and hospitals. I would like to write about my experiences.

My husband was seen by Dr Hogarth at the Harefield practice, who gave him a thorough examination and suspected he had a clot on his lung.

He phoned the hospital and wrote a letter, which we took to Hillingdon Hospital where my husband was admitted without delay into the Emergency Assessment unit.

After further tests, they confirmed the doctor's diagnosis and he is now being treated.

But for the doctor's prompt action my husband could have had a stroke or worse.

This was all over a very busy Christmas period.

We both say a very big thank you to the NHS.
