THIEVES made off with a cash machine after using a digger to rip it out of a supermarket wall.

Two people used a JCB type digger to smash a brick wall at Tesco Express, Pinner Road, in the early hours of this morning (Thursday).

Police were called at 1.15am on Thursday November 29 to reports of two people stealing a cash machine.

The thieves successfully removed the machine and loaded it on to a white Transit van.

Eyewitness David Edwards, of Pinner View, drove past this morning and said: "I drive through there every day and was on my way to the station, I saw that a digger had been used to smash the whole wall. It looks as though they were trying to carry off the whole cash machine."

The digger was left at the scene and there have been no arrests.

Police say there are two suspects but there are no further descriptions and enquiries are on going.
