I AM writing to say that I am pleased that Ealing Council is taking the effort to resurface roads in the borough. I was most impressed that it went to the expense of resurfacing part of Bordars Road in Hanwell last year.

So why, oh why, is Thames Water now digging up this newly resurfaced road to lay down new water pipes? Why couldn't Thames Water have liaised with Ealing Council, and replaced the pipes before the council resurfaced the road?

The road is now likely to need patching up in coming winters.

What a waste of time and effort. Surely Ealing Council must have been aware that some roads on the Cuckoo Estate were going to be dug up as they have to issue a permit for such work.

I hope that, in this modern era, where communication is easy and computers are able to make it even easier, that this sort of liaison is allowed to happened.

As a very annoyed council resident, I will be very interested to hear what Ealing Council has to say.
