This is to bring to your notice an application for development [of the Hayes Motors site in Grange Road] which has recently been lodged with the London Borough of Hillingdon.

I am sure that those familiar with the area will realise that the proposed 70 new flats, some of them four storeys high, facing the Uxbridge County Court in Grange Road, Hayes, will have a huge impact on the surrounding area.

The main problem will be the traffic. The whole of Grange Road will be clogged up.

The junction of Uxbridge Road with Grange Road and with Lansbury Drive, which already has a large number of accidents, will bear the brunt of the new development.

Although there is a provision of 70 parking spaces, considering the number of cars in each household these days there is bound be an overspill and parking will be a nightmare in the area.

The children from the local school coming to Uxbridge Road to catch buses will also be at risk.

The pollution level, with increased number of cars, will rise.

The new proposed development will be detrimental to the general outlook of the area near The Beck Theatre and the court.

The local residents have signed a petition which will be presented to the planning department of the London Borough of Hillingdon in the next couple of days.
