A YOUTH club on Heston Farm estate is being funded by the developer behind new homes there.

Lovell, which is building 41 new homes in the neighbourhood, has donated £5,500 to Brentford Football Club Community Sports Trust.

The money will pay for a youth club on the estate as well as street sports activities for young people in nearby Harlech Gardens and Redwood estates.

It will also be used to help fund day trips and workshops for young people across the borough.

The Heston Farm scheme is one of six housing projects across Heston on which Lovell is teaming up with the council and Hounslow Homes to build a total of 158 new homes.

There has been a significant fall in reports of antisocial behaviour when street sports sessions are taking place, according to figures from Hounslow Homes.

Luke Skelhorn, general manager of Brentford FC CST, said: "Without the support from Lovell and Hounslow Homes, these projects, run as part of our social inclusion programme, wouldn't be able to take place."
