On November 12, a letter was sent to every TMO tenant and leaseholder co-signed by me and the leader of the council.

Although it is unusual for the council leader and the leader of the opposition to write jointly, the deterioration of standards at the TMO is an issue that is directly affecting residents with genuine grievances and requires urgent attention.

I am particularly concerned about the quality of service in relation to repairs and maintenance.

Many of my Labour group colleagues have been working tirelessly with TMO tenants and leaseholders to improve the homes of residents that they were elected to represent.

In many cases, this has resulted in positive outcomes for those concerned.

However, in other cases, we are aware that there has been concern about repairs having been poorly done, or not done at all, and of complaints which have not been addressed.

The TMO is a valuable and important organisation. However, there are clearly issues that need to be resolved, and quickly, in order that the TMO benefits all tenants and leaseholders.

I continue to support the TMO and hope that, with the support of the council, the quality of service to all residents will improve in the near future.
