A FATHER enjoyed the role of both vicar and dad as he conducted a service to get his daughter married.

The Reverend Robert Scott, who has married many couples over the last 26 years, wed daughter Hannah and fiance Dominic Jenkins at Harlington Baptist Church, in High Street, on Saturday.

Mr Scott said: "It was nice to be so involved in my daughter's wedding - it's a totally different experience to getting other people married, you're not just doing your little bit, you're completely involved in the celebrations.

"It also gave me the chance to say how much Hannah has meant to the family, as she is a very happy and positive person.

"I'm proud to have Dominic as my sonin-law and I forgive him for supporting Fulham Football Club, as I support Wolves. But they make a great couple and I am very happy to see them together."

Hannah, 27, said: "When I told my friends my dad would be doing the ceremony a lot of them said 'that will feel really weird' but I don't think it did, I think it just made it more personal.

"I wanted to get married at this church as it's where I have grown up and there are many memories here. It wouldn't have seemed right to do it anywhere else."

The couple met five years ago at The Red Lion pub, also in High Street, Harlington.
