AN inspirational nurse from West Middlesex Hospital has scooped one of the top honours at this year's Nurse Awards.
West Middlesex Hospital ward sister Almie Mngadi received the Ward Sister Award at The Nursing Standards' Nurse Awards, a glittering ceremony held at The Dorchester hotel on Monday.
Almie who manages Osterley 2, an acute respiratory ward at the hospital said: "When I found out I had been nominated I was absolutely overwhelmed.
"I am so happy to receive the award, which is for the whole hospital."
As well as receiving a trophy, Almie, who lives in Isleworth and also has a son who works at West Mid, picked up a cheque for £1,000 which she intends to spend on a laptop.
