David Walliams took to Twitter to thank students and staff at an Uxbridge school where he shot scenes for his sitcom Big School.

Filming for the second series of the BBC One show began in April at Bishopshalt School in Royal Lane, according to Walliams' twitter feed.

Other stars of the show include Catherine Tate, Philip Glenister and Frances de la Tour as teachers in a fictional secondary school.

Now that filming has wrapped the Britain's Got Talent judge, well known for his comedy partnership with Matt Lucas, tweeted his appreciation to the school.

The school also provided the setting for series one of the sit com which aired last year.

In the first series, pupils gave up holidays to come to the school and be extras in the show.

The second series is due to hit screens in August.
