AN APPEAL by Tesco against their fourth rejected planning application for a site in village will be heard at the beginning of April.
A date has been set for an inquiry at Hillingdon Civic Centre- Wednesday April 6.
The public are invited to attend the inquiry, as it is a public hearing.
Tesco have been fighting for the past four years to develop a site of a former garage at Rickmansworth Road, Harefield, next to the Kings Arms pub. They have been thwarted by vocal opposition, consisting of both local traders and residents, but there are also those in favour of the store, and many are fed up of the site being an eyesore.
The main issue with the site is its location, almost adjacent to a crossroads and the village roundabout, with concerns over the impact of delivery lorries proving Tesco's downfall when it comes to planning decisions. The superstore will be trying to convince an independent planning inspectorate on April 6 that they have presented a solution to this problem.
