A CYCLIST has died after a collision on the A40 in Hillingdon last night (Thursday).
The incident happened opposite RAF Northolt shortly after 5.05pm when the cyclist collided with a white transit van.
The cyclist, in his 40s, was taken to St Mary's Hospital in London, but was pronounced dead at 9.20pm.
His next of kin have been informed, although formal identification is yet to take place.
The driver of the van stopped at the scene, but he has not been arrested.
The road was closed off between the Polish War Memorial and the Master Brewer in Hillingdon, causing delays for drivers, who reported being stuck for more than two hours.
Officers from the Metropolitan Police Service's Road Death Investigation
Unit at Alperton Traffic Garage are investigating the incident.
