A GROUP of friends hopped on bikes to give a groom-to-be a stag do with a difference.

Jack James, from Rosebury Vale in Ruislip was told to get on a bike for his final fling as a single man.

Mr James, who is marrying fiancee Jess this summer, and the group pedalled from Ruislip Manor to Camden Town along the Grand Union Canal towpath, with stops at pubs and bars along the way.

The journey was organised by his younger brother and best man Harry James, and friend Tommy Barber.

A total of 50 friends and family went along – after they each spent no more than £10 to buy a bike.

Mr Barber said: “The weird and wonderful bikes included BMX tandems, old lady basket bikes, and bikes with trailers and drink trays. Everybody had to buy a bike and charity shops, eBay and car boot sales were scoured to get the best bike £10 could buy.”

The team met at JJ Moons in Victoria Road, Ruislip Manor on Saturday to set off on their trip.

“It was a crazy sight and definitely something fun and different,” Mr Barber said.
