Quick-thinking from a British Airways cricket club captain saved the life of a player having a heart attack during a match on Saturday (30).

Hero Ravi Bolina captain of the Midweek XI squad realised the seriousness of Faisal Khanwas' serious chest pains and immediately called an ambulance which has kept him alive today.

The incident occurred during a tea break at the British Airways Concorde Club when Mr Khanwas started having chest pains but refused help from his friends on the field.

He is currently recovering in Harefield hospital.

Vice captain, Nasir Khan, wants to raise awareness so people do not ignore chest pains but instead call for help straightaway.

He told getwestlondon: "Faisal was having a heart attack and still denying the seriousness of his condition. Refusing his mates to call an ambulance, veteran Ravi Bolina saw the condition, and realising the seriousness of the matter called the ambulance. According to medics he saved Faisal's life.

"A 15 minute delay could have been lethal. Understanding and bravery of Ravi Bolina is appreciated and deserves applause. We cannot ignore chest pains and should call for help."
