A SANTA’S grotto raised cash for causes close the heart of organisers.

More than 50 people attended the event, at The Waters Edge Public House, Packet Boat Lane, Cowley on Monday.

-As well as a visit with Santa, there was a name-the0bear competition and a chance for parents to win a bottle of champagne in a raffle.

The event raised £430, which will be split between Hillingdon Hospital’s neo-natal unit and the Air Ambulance service.

Organiser Ashton Smith chose the first cause as her brother Braydon Hayes was treated at the hospital 14 years ago.

She said: “It’s a cause really close to my heart and I’m really glad that it went so well.”

The second charity was chosen by another organiser, Clive McGee, who has supported the air ambulance ever since his son was killed in a motorcycle accident six years ago.
