A couple who started up a wedding stationary company in Feltham after being inspired by Channel 4's Secret Millionaire Kevin Green are up for a national award.

Ian and Renie Spreadbury launched Perfect Day Weddings after meeting business coach Mr Green who noticed she had an eye for creativity and suggested she set up a wedding stationary business.

Now, 18-months on they have been shortlisted for the national Hitched Breakthrough Awards (HBA) which recognise new talent in the industry.

Mrs Spreadbury said: "I had given up a career in magazine production after having three children but as they got older I needed to do something more stimulating as well as earn money.

"The initial idea came after my husband and I met one of Channel 4’s Secret Millionaires, business coach Kevin Green.

"He recognised that I had strong creative skills and suggested we set up a wedding stationery business.

"Within a couple of months I had a company name, branding and a website and I haven’t looked back”.

Perfect Day Weddings is a boutique for bespoke wedding invitations and stationary and is used by people getting married worldwide.

She added: “It’s always a challenge to produce invitations in other languages but I love it.

"I’m absolutely thrilled to be a finalist in the hitched.co.uk Breakthrough Awards as there is a lot of talent out there”.

The HBAs recognises talent in the wedding industry for companies that have been in business since June 1, 2011.

There are six categories: wedding cake design, wedding floristry, wedding stationery, wedding photography, wedding hair styling and honeymoon hotels.
