A GROUP of neighbours in south Hayes worried about speeding drivers on their street want the council to step in.
Two thirds of the households in Skipton Drive, Hayes – which joins Bourne Avenue and Pinkwell Lane – have called for traffic calming measures.
Past speed surveys on the road have shown that most people travel within the 30mph limit, but local people say they have safety concerns.
Fifty-nine people have signed a petition, and residents have been invited to present it to Councillor Keith Burrows, cabinet member for planning and transport, at the Civic Centre, in High Street, Uxbridge, this evening (Wednesday) at 7pm.
The Pinkwell Safer Neighbourhood Team will consider ways to enforce to limit.
Last month, Pinkwell Lane became a 20mph stretch and funding from Transport for London (TfL) for a zebra crossing and other improvements was agreed after the road’s two schools, Harlington Community School and Pinkwell Primary, lobbied the council.
