REMOVING graffiti is a high-pressure job but employees from the council got the chance to show its top man was up to the task.
Hounslow Council leader Councillor Jagdish Sharma met with members of the Grimebusters team who were busy removing graffiti in Brentford on Monday.
A number of well know ‘taggers’ have been leaving their distinctive signatures on walls, shop shutters and street furniture across Hounslow.
Feltham and Chiswick have both seen massive increases in graffiti.
Keeping up with the vandals is a non-stop task for the team, who treat the graffiti with a special solvent which is left to work for 10 minutes and then jet washed clean.
Mr Sharma said: “Graffiti is not just about spoiling the look of the borough, it can be offensive too. It gives the impression that this is a rundown area, which it is not.”
The Grimebusters hotline to report graffiti on is 020 8583 3344.
