Cllr Greenhalgh's propaganda skills reached new heights on your front page last week (Fulham Chronicle, Oct 23) in response to news that H&F Council is to slash services and employee benefits. It is significant that in his list of 'things that matter' he does not mention Social Services or Housing.

Old people, according to him, are getting a better service because there are fewer home helps, less home care and a higher cost to those who get it.

Those who need affordable rented housing are having a hard time under the present Tory regime.

Not only has the council slashed the social housing building programme but they are actually selling off property required for those in housing need.

And, incredibly, they are contemplating demolishing council estates to make way for luxury housing schemes.

All this of course saves money for council tax cuts that benefit most those on the highest incomes. And who pays for it? Those on the lowest incomes.
