TIME has been called on the Wilton Arms in Fulham after a string of misdemeanours.

A council licensing committee closed down the Dawes Road pub last week in response to concerns about crime, disorder and drug-taking, and landlord David Hinton is currently on bail after an allegation of CS spray at the premises.

The final straw came for the council after a raid on February 8 discovered previous demands to improve CCTV coverage in the pub had not been met.

Police also highlighted incidents of drug taking and fights.

Cllr Matt Thorley, chairman of the Licensing Sub-Committee, said: “This pub has been a source of crime and antisocial behaviour with violent and drug-related incidents.

"The council insisted at the previous review that the pub install CCTV but those demands have been completely ignored. The committee therefore came to the conclusion that the only appropriate course action it could take was to revoke the license."
