A SHEPHERD'S Bush man has been told to pay £1,000 costs over a flytipping incident in Goldhawk Road.

Enforcement officers spotted dumped sacks of commercial waste on the junction between Lime Grove and Goldhawk Road – including invoices and delivery notes from M T London Fabrics.

Despite denying the waste was from his business, West London magistrates found Mr Guru Singh, the firm's company director, guilty of flytipping and failure to produce trade waste documents.

He was fined £600 and ordered to pay £400 towards the costs of the prosecution, as well as a £15 victim surcharge.

Deputy council leader Greg Smith: “Lazy people who fly tip are environmental vandals that waste taxpayers’ money. Every year the council spends about £21million cleaning the borough’s streets and collecting rubbish and recycling.

"While many people help us to save taxpayers’ money by doing their bit to dispose of rubbish properly the minority who don’t are being prosecuted through the courts."
