Journeys to work and study were disrupted this morning when overrunning engineering work closed the Met line between Harrow-on-the-Hill and central London.

There were no services at all between Harrow and Aldgate in the rush hour and trains have only started to continued through from Harrow to Wembley Park.

The Jubilee line is still suspended between Wembley Park and Willesden Green stations, with Transport for London warning there are "severe delays" on both lines.

Passengers were being urged to take a bus to Kenton Tube station and board the Bakerloo line or catch the Chiltern line overground service to Marylebone to reach central London.
