A VILLAGE hall and green at a new housing community in West Drayton are now open.

The ribbon at Spring Green and Village Hall in Drayton Garden Village community was cut by Mayor of Hillingdon, Allan Kauffman.

Children rushed to enjoy the grassy banks and test new play equipment and more than 60 people enjoyed a buffet lunch in the new village hall.

“It is hard to imagine that it is only a couple of years since a tree was planted to open the site,” said Mr Kauffman.

“I urge everyone to make full use of the new facilities and I know that the village management will make it as easy as possible for residents’ groups to meet and hold functions.”

There are now have 281 completed homes at Drayton Garden Village on the site of RAF West Drayton, formally home to National Air Traffic Control, and a further 122 are under construction.
