Pupils at Marjory Kinnon School   welcomed British athlete Nathan Fox as part of the Sports for Schools project to inspire children to exercise.

The Commonwealth Games triple jump champion spent the day laughing and joking with both primary and secondary students, from Year 5 and up, at the Bedfont school, while taking them through a short fitness circuit.

The 23-year-old athlete followed up the fitness sessions with an assembly for all the students that took part where he demonstrated some of the training exercises he goes through as well as a Q&A session with teachers and pupils.

"We have a small number of pupil in the school, but nevertheless they raised in total £345 pounds.

"Our pupils seemed to really enjoy the day and take on board the message Nathan was promoting."

The visit to the school was on September 19 and was organised by the Sports for Schools programme to encourage a healthy lifestyle through healthy eating and physical activity.
